Welcome to Crick Medical Practice

Welcome to Crick Medical Practice, providing primary care for Crick and surrounding areas. We hope you take your time to browse our website where you will find lots of useful information about the surgery and the services we offer.

Our main premises are in Crick with a branch surgery in West Haddon.

We are a teaching practice which means from time to time students from Warwick Medical School do sit in with the doctors. Please inform the receptionist if you do not wish students to be in attendance.

📣Update on Weight Loss Injections (e.g., Tirzepatide/Mounjaro)

You may have seen headlines about new weight loss injections like Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) being available on the NHS from 23rd June 2025.

Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) have published the below update:

Northamptonshire ICB knows there are many patients eligible for this medication who would like to be able to access this as soon as possible.
However, this medication will be made available in phases over a number of years. We ask that you are patient with us whilst we wait for further communication from NHS England on how Mounjaro will be rolled out and establish the best way to do so to meet our county’s needs.
We also ask that you do not contact your GP surgery to try and obtain Mounjaro for weight loss just yet. GP practices are incredibly busy at this time of year and the additional resource required to manage enquiries will mean they have less time to offer patient appointments.
We have also asked our GPs not to prescribe Mounjaro for weight loss at this time, while we work with clinical colleagues to develop options for the new service, including the training and education needed for these medications to be safely prescribed. We are also working with a range of experts from across Northamptonshire to develop a specialist weight management service for patients with more complex needs, which will prescribe weight management medication in future.

Therefore we are currently unable to offer this service from 23rd June as outlined nationally. Please do not contact the practice about this medication at this time.

We will provide an update as soon as official guidance becomes available.

Information:

Under the new GP contract, GP surgeries are no longer obliged to provide a phlebotomy service (blood taking).

We wish to inform you that this practice has chosen to continue providing this service for our patients.

You may have to wait a couple of weeks for a routine blood test appointment but please be assured that anyone needing an urgent blood test will always be accommodated.

However, due to increased demands on our service we are unable to accommodate blood tests that have been requested by the hospital. These should be arranged directly with them.

You can book a blood test at your local hospital using the link below.

We thank you for your continued support.
